Navajo (Dine') Silver Turquoise Inlaid Bangle by Harold Smith

This fabulous sterling silver bangle was crafted by Harold Smith, a well-known Navajo (Diné) silversmith and inlay artist. This bangle features inlay using turquoise, lapis lazuli, mother-of-pearl, coral, malachite, and onyx. Smith is known for his very precise inlay work and his use of thick-gauge sterling silver. He comes from a family of silversmiths and jewelers, and has been active since the late 20th century. His work often combines traditional Navajo silver techniques (like heavy silver shanks, stamp work, and repoussé) with channel and mosaic inlay in stones such as turquoise, lapis, coral, mother of pearl, and jet.
