Circa 1790 Carnelian Intaglio Ring

Circa 1790. This fantastic Georgian seal ring features a carnelian disc bezel set in a 9KT yellow gold setting. The carnelian is engraved with an intaglio crest and motto. The motto reads: NON SINE CAUSA, which translates to: NOT WITHOUT CAUSE. Situated at the top of the crest is an armored arm with a dagger in hand. A dagger represents honor in battle, while the armored arm denotes a leader.
